Louis Armand An Australian writer living in the Czech Republic, where he lectures at Charles University and the University of New York, Prague. His work has appeared in journals such as ‚Sulfur‘, ‚Poetry Review‘, ‚Stand‘, ‚Meanjin‘ and the ‚New Orleans Review‘. His books include ‚Seances‘ (Prague, 1998), ‚Anatomy Lessons‘ (New York, 1999) and ‚Erosions‘ (Sydney, 2000). ‚The Garden‘, a volume of experimental prose, and ‚Inexorable Weather‘, a collection of poetry, are both due out in the UK later this year. In 1997 he was awarded the Max Harris Prize from the Penola Festival (Adelaide), and in 2000 he received the ‚Nassau Review‘ Prize for best poem (New York).
